Demand for our Near Wall Specific loudspeaker kits continues to be strong, therefore we are keeping the Echo family, Okara II family and the fabulous Kitty Kat available in kit form for the foreseeable future.

We still have some of the big speaker kits left, and there is a HUGE sales on our Zen and Crescendo Caps.

News from the New York Vacuum Tube Valley Audio Show:

North Creek will produce a "test run" of the .A.R.T. Metro Ribbon Hybrid in kit form. We will try 10 pair of the Metro's as kits and then determine if it is a viable loudspeaker kit project. We are introducing them at $3599 per pair. Please see the Statement of the .A.R.T. Metro through this link.

North Creek also debuted the new North Kitty Kat Revelator near-wall-specific monitor loudspeaker featuring a custom version of the Scan Speak 15W Revelator woofer and the North D28 tweeter. Built in the Parts Express 0.5 cubic foot cabinet, the Kitty Kat has an explosive bass line, if flat to 36 Hz, and measures ±1.5dB from 36 Hz to beyond 20kHz. The best of Scan Speak and North quality, the Kitty Kat is the most spectacular near-wall monitor ever produced.

Unfinished, pre-machined Fascias are now available for most North Creek Loudspeaker Kits to fit new Parts Express pre-veneered shells. At right is the North Creek Casita in the Parts Express 14 liter cabinet and North Creek MDF/Baltic Birch Plywood fascia.

After two and a half years in the lab, a new reference monitor from North Creek! Built around the SEAS 18WE001 Magnesium cone woofer and North D28-06S silk dome tweeter, the Pegasus is the most accurate small loudspeaker ever made. We now have stock of the new North D28-06S shielded silk dome tweeter. Build around an enormous motor with an MAPD rear chamber, Faraday sleeve, machined aluminium face plate and 1mm p-p excursion, the D28-06S offers an incredible 92dB of sensitivity and measures 1300 Hz - 20kHz +-0.25dB. North Creek Music Systems is proud to announce we have been appointed a stocking distributor of Aurum Cantus Ribbon Tweeters. We currently have stock of the G1, G2, G2si and G3 ribbons, and expect to have our new North Manifest loudspeaker kit becomes available October 23. The Manifest is an MTM tower constructed with the Aurum Cantus G1 Ribbon Tweeter, G2si Ribbon Super Tweeter and custom Scan-Speak woofers. Kit price is expected to be around $3200 per pair. Cabinets will be available separately directly from Lee Taylor and company. More info soon.

The Okara II - C center channel and Okara II MTM monitor is now available. Voiced identically to the legendary Okara II, the Okara II - C MTM is magnetically shielded and comes standard as a high impedance system matching the sensitivity of the original Okara II's. System input impedance can be configured to 8.0 Ohm +-2.0 Ohms to easily match SET and OTL amplifications.

We are now able to offer the incredible Okara II - Ikemo at $329 per pair standard price.

North Creek completed the purchase process of the new, one-acre compound in southern Thendara. The long construction process is scheduled to begin in May, including a palletized warehouse and a dedicated theater. We hope to be fully up and running by September 2003.

We now have the ability to magnetically shield all of our drivers. This cost is $10 each for Scan-Speak woofers, $6 each for the Vifa P13, and $3 each for Scan Speak and North tweeters.

We now have a front-firing Poseidon subwoofer driver available from stock. Like the downfiring version, it is designed for an acoustic suspension cabinet with our amplifier, but the front firing unit can also be used in vented applications.

Beta testing of the new North Creek CM-7 monitor loudspeaker kit is complete and the system will be available shortly. This system features the North 19W-06S 7" Kevlar woofer and North D25-06S silk dome tweeter in a 14 liter aperiodically damped cabinet. More news soon, when gamma testing is complete!

Our new Spikes and Binding Posts have arrived!

We now have spikes in three sizes; Very Big Toes and our classic Big Toes share a 3/8-16 thread. The Big Toes are 2 1/8" tall and the Very Big Toes are 2 3/4" tall. One can use a pair of Big Toes in the back and Very Big Toes in the front to angle a loudspeaker rearward.

Our new "Big as Texas" binding posts are machined from solid brass with a silver sub plate and hard gold finish, and feature a full 48mm of thread length. The head is 1/2" solid gold plated brass, knurled on the bottom to prevent spin-out. A gold plated grip washer and nylon sealing washer for inside the cabinet and two nuts complete the picture. They look a little storky because they are so long, but they easily go through 1 1/2" MDF with plenty of thread to spare.

Gold Plated Quick Connects: Manufactured exclusively for North Creek, we now have Gold Plated quick connects available in sizes 0.110", 0.187", and 0.250" (to fit tweeters, Vifa woofers, and Scan Speak woofers respectively). The material is gold-plated brass,
and they will accept up to 12 AWG internal wiring.

Beta testing of the Vision Signature MAPD loudspeaker system is complete and we are working on the cabinet plans. We hope to have pricing up by April 20. The speaker is built around the Scan-Speak 15S-8530K-01 shielded Revelator Mid-Woofer and D2905/9900 Revelator tweeter (also shielded). One will also be able to order the complete system, fully assembled with a Lee Taylor Signature cabinet under our North brand label. This is a wonderful loudspeaker with solid state, and with high sensitivity, MAPD driver loading and nearly flat input impedance, it is also a dream speaker for SET's. For those in the market for the ultimate shielded monitor loudspeaker, from 70 Hz up this is it!

We have upgraded our OFHC copper internal woofer wiring to 10 AWG. This is available in red or black for $0.40 per foot. See Accessories for more details.

Also available is the new North 19W-6542-S-06 shielded 7.5" Kevlar mid-woofer. Designed specifically for home theater applications, this woofer has been optimized for MTM acoustic suspension, aperiodic and MAPD designs, and will mate perfectly with virtually any subwoofer on the market. The driver is available matched pairs, quads or larger quantities to allow perfect matching of two, five or six channels.

For those who already own North Creek Rhythm loudspeaker systems, we have added a section to the manual regarding Fine Tuning the loudspeaker.

Port Tubes: We have gone to a new style port tube with a flared end at the egress. This type of tube is easier to install and tune than the standard "straight" tube, theoretically better at higher power levels, and looks pretty cool. For more info, see Port Tubes on our accessory page.

The Okara is back! Reborn as the Okara II, this is a tiny vented two way built with the Scan-Speak D2905/9500 and Vifa P13WH-00-08.
