METALLIZED POLYPROPYLENE FILM CAPACITORS

Zen high frequency metallized polypropylene film capacitors were developed in 1996 and optimized for high end audio applications. We use a proprietary, high frequency polypropylene film (superior to any other polypropylene film we have tested), heavy metallization, and specified low tension winding, a high conductivity alloy end cap, and radius-soldered 16 AWG silver-plated-copper leads. Lastly, the capacitor directivity is determined by the lead color.

Zen Performance Standards: use our 225 Volt film, these capacitors are an excellent choice for all midrange and tweeter applications and offer superb performance up to 100kHz. They are musical, dynamic, and very clean. Available from 2.0µF to 10.0µF.

Zen 100's: the first high performance capacitor designed for midrange applications. Virtually every other large-value capacitor we have tested is constructed with a 60Hz "motor run" film. The Zen 100's use a 100 Volt version of our proprietary high frequency polypropylene film, yielding midrange and upper midrange performance that is smooth and detailed without a hint of the grain common in most other large value capacitors. Zen 100's are also an excellent choice for very low tweeter crossover frequencies. Available from 20µF to 200µF.

We feel the Zen caps are the finest metallized capacitors available for audio applications, easily outperforming most exotic capacitors at a fraction of their price. Made in USA.

The Harmony Ultra-bypasstm Caps

The Harmony Ultra-bypasstm caps are the first capacitors developed to improve the overall performance of virtually every other metallized capacitor. Constructed from a 625 VDC version of our proprietary high frequency polypropylene film, they feature a dielectric absorption 90% lower than conventional capacitors and an ESR fully one third lower. Radius-solderedtm leads are 20AWG Tef-Flex AG. These are the most transparent metallized film caps we have ever heard, and strongly recommended them as a universal bypass with every metallized cap available. They also sound great as output coupling caps. Made in USA.
